Fizzy Happiness: SodaStream Review

Y’all, I have been wanting to try a SodaStream for a long time. We waste SO much soda when we buy 2-liters or 12-packs because we never finish them. I’ve seen people talking about the SodaStream, and I knew that having something that would enable me to make a small amount of soda (and other drinks) at a time would be perfect for us. So, when I got the chance to try out a SodaStream, I jumped at the opportunity!

I was SO excited when my SodaStream arrived, and my husband was so excited that he came home from work for lunch so we could try it out! The machine was SUPER easy to put together. You just pop the CO2 canister in the back, and you’re good to go! Using it is easy, too – fill the carbonating bottle to the fill line, screw it into the machine, pump it full of C02, unscrew, add your syrup and then shake to mix! It takes all of a couple of minutes! Make sure you put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes, though, before you open it after shaking. We MIGHT have made the mistake of opening it right away, and pretty much all of the carbonation spilled out of the bottle!

As excited as I was to try the SodaStream out, I will say that I was a *little* nervous that it wouldn’t taste exactly like ready-made sodas. But, we fill our measuring cups up to just below the line, and it tastes EXACTLY like the name brand. Seriously.

The only problem with the SodaStream? Not fighting over what flavor to make! I LOVE the Cola and Root Beer flavors while my husband’s favorites are the Ginger Ale and Grapefruit. The Grapefruit tastes JUST like Fresca, and it is SO refreshing. And, while I’m a big Cola fan, I LOVE having the Ginger Ale on-hand for when someone gets sick. It saves a trip out to the grocery store! We have our work cut out for us, though – there are SO many flavors and we, of course, want to try them all! Someone has to do it, right??

We are VERY happy with our SodaStream, and our families have already asked us to bring it when we visit so they can try it out!
