Review – Chalk Preschool

This is a sponsored campaign with Mums the Word Network and Chalk Preschool . All opinions are my own.

My daughter started preschool this year, and she LOVES it! She tells me every night that she has to go to school the next day so she can learn, and when she misbehaves, we threaten to not let her go to school as a punishment! That makes her straighten up quickly!

Now that school is coming to an end, I’ve been looking for something to do with her during the summer months to keep her in the habit of learning, so we gave Chalk Preschool a try! I really liked the site. It’s really easy to use, and each day has its own preschool curriculum in each of the following areas – dailies, weather, literacy, math/science and art.

Under each category, there are several video lessons from which you can choose. I love all the various preschool lesson plans from which she can choose. For instance, all the songs and tracing videos under literacy are totally up her alley. The science videos are really neat, too.

When we first tried out the curriculum, we used some of the printables. Lucy’s favorite was the weather printable. She loved looking outside to check the weather and then marking it on its respective day of the week.

We had fun going through (a LOT) of the other curriculum as well! Lucy LOVED the songs that were included, and I did, too. Songs are such a great way to teach kids about various subjects. Lucy’s favorites were the “Weather Song” and the “Alphabet Song”.

Lucy also loved one of the food crafts in the science section – using apples, raisins and pretzels to create ladybugs! She wanted to watch it over and over!

Other aspects of Chalk Preschool that I love are its Chalk Preschool Blog, where parents can find all sorts of information from art projects and songs to things that Chalk Preschool is doing, such as its collaboration with My Gym Children’s Fitness Center. You’ll also find tips and tricks as well as posts on healthy eating. And, in the Chalk Preschool Newsroom, you’ll find even more news as well as ways to integrate learning with holidays!
